This week we studied different types of art. In reading, we read about the process illustrators use to create a book. We were also lucky enough to have three parent volunteers present our first Art Literacy lesson. The students loved creating their own tessellations. If you stop by the school any time soon, you can see the results hanging in our hall.
In math, my student teacher, Mrs. Davala, started our next unit. Over the next few weeks she will teach our students about rounding, complex word problems, and bar graphs. I also shared with a the students a large bar graph that tracks and displays how much progress each student has made on MobyMax. Each child has three goals: to complete fact master, to make one years growth on the math section, and to complete all of the third grade math.
